The Haven and Hope School-Based Early Support Program provides services to families and children in school districts 7 and 12 in the Bronx. We provide families with academic, social-emotional, and concrete supports and resources. We provide direct services to parents and children, and connect families to community resources.

We offer parenting support services through a Triple P Positive Parenting Program. Triple P Level 4 is designed for caregivers struggling with parenting challenges related to a child’s behavior. Triple P is a five-level, evidence-based parenting program built on the following key principles: 1) helping parents/caregivers to create a positive learning environment for their children; 2) ensuring safety; 3) setting realistic expectations; 4) using safe assertive discipline; and 5) taking care of themselves as parents.
We support families’ navigation of, and access to, essential community services such as child care, health services, housing programs such as Homebase, public benefits and entitlements, including but not limited to WIC, SNAP, public assistance, child support, health insurance (e.g., Medicaid, CHIP), housing subsidies, and other resources available through the Department of Social Services and other government agencies.
We co-design workshops, activities and events with families and their school community. Activities take place at school and at other locations in the Bronx. We provide opportunities for families to connect with neighbors and community members, and to strengthen positive social connections.
Families also have access to the Bronx HYPE Family Enrichment Center, with no cost events and workshops occurring weekly. Visit bronxhype.org for additional information.
Case plans are co-developed in partnership with families, and case management is rooted in Motivational Interviewing (MI).
Case management may also include the provision of or referral for family counseling or other mental care as needed, as well as advocacy to assist families in navigating government and private sector service systems and benefits.
